JNTO’s July guide covers the end of the rainy season, rising heat, beaches, mountain routes, baseball and beer gardens.

July events include Tanabata observances, Gion Matsuri, Tenjin Matsuri and fireworks displays.

What To Watch

The first question is whether the rainy season has ended where you are going. After that, July is built around shade, water, evening events, and altitude: beaches, mountain trails, fireworks, night markets, and urban festivals.

Hanafuda Lens

July is the bush clover suit. The four cards are the boar, a plain ribbon, and two bush clover chaff cards. The plant belongs to autumn grass imagery, which gives the deck an early turn toward fall even while the weather is at high summer.

How We Know

This page uses JNTO for July weather, outdoor-travel, and festival framing. Nintendo Museum supplies the Hanafuda month structure, and Koi-Koi supplies the exact card face used in the hero image.

The Bush clover Suit

July's Hanafuda suit is Bush clover: four exact Koi-Koi card faces in the site deck, shown here without redraws or substitution.
